Shot Put

Post by yvonne »

I am a high school shot putter. I have been throwing the 4k for 7 months and still can't cross the 7.5m mark. I understand that it is the speed and strength which affects the distance. I have been working on weight training but it doesn't seem to help. Is there any other way to improve my shot distance?

Please help.

In the Strength section of the web site there is an excellent article by Bill Pendleton "Strength Training for Throwers". The link is:
