What are acceleration zones, and how do you use them?

The acceleration zones is incorporated into the exchange zones, thus creating a 30-meteer exchange zone. In sprint relays such as the 4x100 meter and 4x200 meter, and other relays with legs of 200 meters or less, the outgoing runner, while waiting for the baton, must be positioned entirely inside the 30-meter exchange zone.
Runners #1 and #3 run on the inside of the lane, while runners #2 and #4 position themselves on the outside of the lane. Runners #1 and #3 carry the baton around the curves in their right hands, while runners #2 and #4 carry the baton down the straight-a-way with their left hands.
