Long Jump needs technical help

I'm a long jumper with a personal best of 7.40 meters. I land on my feet hitting the sand regular between 7.60-7.80 meters but I always seem to land flat on my buttocks or try to pull my feet back before they actually hit the sand.
I do a fast hitch kick technique and I think I'm just going to start throwing my self forward as soon as my feet hit. I'm worried that I will over rotate too soon.
Can anyone suggest something? I want to avoid this problem.
