400m Training Program

Coach,
My son is running winter track but he really likes spring track and views winter track as his "development" time. The training he gets in school is basic, running jog/sprint cycles in the hallways or some variation of this. Practice is 1.25 hours per day (no weights, no technique/form training).
I would like to put him on an additional program at least three mornings per week before school in the weight training programs you have pointed me to, the speed drills and the form training. Would this be too much training for him if he does his school workout also?
