I have a sprinter in his junior season who is 5'11" near six foot tall and is about 185 pounds and a bit on the overweight side. The kid desperately wants to be an 100 meter sprinter. He won't try other events. He runs in the 12-13 second range. Is it possible to transform him into a fast sprinter that runs in the high 10s range? I mean he is working hard to cut the fat and has been running and doing a lot of exercise and is doing sprints at home. Is there any shot that plyometrics or anything could get him there?

Circuit training, medicine ball, jumping power, In-place jumps, weight and plyometric training all will improve sprinting.
